About me
Hi! My name is M. Agustina Elizondo (also known as Mae), a 29-year-old freelance cartographer and illustrator based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Drawing has been a lifelong passion of mine, and about seven years ago, I decided to fully dedicate myself to the art of map-making.
I began my journey in 2019 by creating battle maps for role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons — a game I adore and play every week as the Dungeon Master for my party. Over time, I expanded my craft to designing world, region, and continent maps for fantasy books and other games.
Creating maps is not just my job; it's what I love to do. I find immense joy in bringing imaginary worlds to life, and nothing excites me more than diving into a new project. When I'm not drawing, you'll likely find me with a fantasy book in hand, always seeking inspiration for my next creation.
As a bonus fact, I earned a master's in psychology in 2021, which has helped me connect deeper with the stories behind the maps I create since it gives me a deeper understanding of character motivations, world dynamics, and the emotional landscapes of these fantasy worlds. But, at the end of the day, my true passion is drawing, and that's where I find my real fulfillment.
